Salisbury is in the county of Wiltshire. It is a beautiful and ancient city and from afar, the spire of the ancient Salisbury Cathedral rises out of the verdant English countryside. Salisbury is full of Tudor and medieval-Gothic architecture. Close and to the north of Salisbury are the ruins of Old Sarum dating back to the bronze age. Best known and located on Salisbury Plain is Stonehenge - the ancient stone circle dating from around 2800 BC. This is one of England's most visited tourist sites.
